Chris Popio

Chris was baptized in the swirling waters of the Trap Door in 1997 when he appeared in Deathwatch. Since then he has lent his talents on-stage and off to several productions including Big MotherLa RondeThe Fourth Sister, Smartphones, Blood on the Cat’s Neck and most recently, Cookie Play. While he has and does wander off to perform on other stages in and around Chicago, the Trap always seems to pull him back.

Originally form New Jersey, Chris studied writing (among other things) at the University of Cincinnati and has worked in Chicago as a writer of children’s books, animation and screenplays. His day job is photographing many of his fellow Chicago’s actors.
