Emily Lotspeich

Resident Literary Manager

After over a decade of being in the Trap Door family, Emily is proud to finally make it official by taking on the title of Literary Manager.  Growing up in Cincinnati, OH, Ms. Lotspeich was fortunate enough to attend the television noted School for Creative and Performing Arts from grades 4-12.  There she majored in acting, directing, creative writing and oboe.  She came to call Chicago home when she moved here to further her theater education at Depaul University  in 1997. Focusing on Directing and Playwriting she won her first writing competition and got to see her work performed at Chicago Dramatists.  She also had her first job at Trap Door.  Emily has since had the privilege to work with many Chicago theaters such as Prop, Polarity, and New Millennium, to name a few.  In addition to her many roles on and off the stage Ms. Lotspeich is very proud of running new playwrights festivals for multiple companies.  She is very excited by the prospect of continuing to exercise all these facets of theatre through her new position with the illustrious Trap Door Theatre!
